Shaw Communications

Shaw Communications has been one of Trout Unlimited Canada’s strongest supporters over the past eight years. Its contributions have been both front and center-Jim Shaw chaired the Calgary National Conservation Dinne rin 2004, and again in 2009, while JR Shaw’s Eagle Pointe Lodge trip for 12 anglers, including a private jet flight to Prince Rupert, has been a Live Auction highlight on many occasions. And, in the background Trout Unlimited Canada has benefited from Shaw Communications marketing and production staff expertise, products and services.

It was Jim Shaw’s leadership that took the Calgary dinner to a new level of sophistication and excitement. In 2004, his commitment of Shaw Communications production, technical and video services raised the bar for what our dinner event should be, from the look of the banquet and auction areas, signage, lighting and the introduction of entertaining video clips to highlight select Live Auction items. The standard that Shaw Communications set during the two times Jim Shaw chaired the dinner, continues to guide us today and will do so into the future.

The value of the contributions from JR Shaw through Eagle Pointe Lodge, Jim Shaw through support from Shaw Communications and through personal donations from them and other members of the Shaw family exceeds $1,000,000 over the past eight years. There are no words that can truly express Trout Unlimited Canada’s sincere appreciation and gratitude for the generosity and community support of the Shaw family and the company they lead.
